At Madejasur we are always looking for new ways to improve each process, because we really care about offering you impeccably made yarns. We love that the garment for which you chose our materials remains perfect despite the passage of time! And we are convinced that a quality yarn maintains its texture, shape and colour with the right care.
At the end of 2021, we wanted to take this process improvement one step further, and we subjected our already dyed bases to a colour fastness test . The aim was to ensure that our dyeing is long-lasting, and that the project you carry out maintains its original nuances and intensity. We want to add value to the experience of creating fabrics with our wool: while you enjoy knitting them, then with the use of the garment and also with repeated washings.
So, we can share with you this good news: each Madejasur sample analysed gave excellent results in laboratory tests that evaluated its colour fastness, with water washing tests. The degradation of our colours was practically zero in the skeins subjected to control by Cal-tex, according to its report from last November. In order to achieve a sample that met different characteristics, our Merino Sock Bronze, Silk Mohair and Merino Sock SW were responsible for this certification.
All this means that the care we put into developing different shades for our bases will always remain in your project and with the same color solidity that you chose to knit. We do not only want to create beautiful shades from quality wool, but we also care a lot about the entire process having professional results. Our yarns, dyed by hand in Chilean Patagonia, will be a soft luxury wherever they go.
Who is Cal-tex?
To ensure a serious and reliable analysis, we turned to Cal-tex. This is a leading national laboratory in the certification of textiles, geotextiles, leather and footwear, which has been operating since 1988 and uses cutting-edge technology. Its analysis methods were able to determine a high dye fastness in our skeins , thanks to the low degradation and minimal discharge of colour into the water of the tests.
With this background, you can be sure that every time you wash a garment made with Madejasur yarns, you can be sure that it will not fade or stain others. You only have to follow the basic guidelines required by natural yarns : hand wash with cold water, with similar colors and mild detergent, without wringing. To dry, prefer to do so horizontally and in the shade.
