Pope Vergara, the queen of queens, will teach her workshops at Madejasur

When we knit from a Pope Vergara pattern, we not only face a dream project, but we also learn a lot and discover unique results from colors, textures and techniques. We truly love each of her proposals and that is why, as soon as she had an available schedule, we invited her to teach her workshops with us here in Puerto Varas during January 2023.

So, in addition to all the new things you can learn from Pope, you will also have the relaxation of the holidays, the beautiful surroundings offered by our Madejasur workshop, the green of southern Chile, obviously a break with delicious things, and enjoying a city with privileged natural and tourist attractions. In short, it is a perfect opportunity to treat yourself to that ideal knitting space, which can be so scarce during the year.

The workshops we are preparing together with Pope are two: Creative Intarsia and Beadwork . Both are among our favorite designer's specialties. "We are going to learn to weave with beads using different techniques, we are going to do applied exercises and, at the end, I am going to teach them to introduce ribbons, icord and other things, so they can pimp up their knitting," she tells us from Santiago. For the case of Creative Intarsia, the 'teacher' has other sub-techniques in mind as well, as she gave us a little preview. "We are going to make openings, braids, a combination of both, some freestyle and we are going to finish with our own Intarsia design," she explained.

What do the workshops include? First of all, we would like to tell you that each one lasts three hours. For the Creative Intarsia workshop, which will be on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 3:00 p.m., we have two mini balls of Merino Madejasur (20 grams each) and a delicious coffee break. For the Mostacillas workshop, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21 , students will have a mini ball of Merino Madejasur (20 grams), a Hiya Hiya crochet hook for applying beads, a small box of Miyuki brand Japanese and calibrated beads and, of course, a delicious coffee break.

We would like to take this opportunity to tell you that for both workshops you will need 3.5 knitting needles (don't worry if you don't have any, because you can buy them here with us), basic knitting knowledge and lots and lots of desire to enjoy Pope's creativity and learn new things that you can apply to lots of projects. If you decide to take both workshops, you will find the pleasant surprise of a special price at the time of checkout on our website www.madejasur.cl .

Just in case any of you are still wondering, you can check out the wonders that Josefina 'Pope' Vergara has designed on her website www.popeknits.com . In the ultra remote case that you don't know her, there you can delight in her beautiful creations, which are not only available at Raverly, but have been published in internationally recognized magazines, such as Pompom (England) or El Arte de Tejer (Argentina). This year, our Pope also did a knitwear design collaboration with Falabella Chile. In short, we look forward to seeing you at our Puerto Varas Workshop!
