The first thing is the material of the tips, which are made of stainless steel or bamboo. The stainless line is light, resistant, durable and offers two types of finishes: sharp (the sharpest on the market, with an extremely fine finish) and steel (of equal quality, but less sharp than the previous one). The bamboo line, on the other hand, is very light, soft, warm and highly resistant, thanks to the resin injection in its core.
If you are an experienced knitter, or one who loves mohair and similar yarns, stainless steel needles seem like the best idea. This material offers a quick glide of the stitches, which makes things a little more complicated for those who are just starting out. And if you are into complex and precise stitches, we are sure that you will love the sharp finish. On the other hand, if you are looking for the fabric to move more smoothly on your needles, without unexpectedly slipping, you are starting out or you suffer from rheumatic or joint problems, we definitely recommend bamboo needles.
You can choose the fixed version or the one with interchangeable cables. The latter is ideal for getting the most out of your tools, since you can simply unscrew the cable to change the total length of the needles. And since all varieties are 4” or 5” long, they can be adapted to whatever you want. Because the smaller the project, the shorter the needles and cables. The size of your hands and the way you hold the needles also have an impact on this point.
